About Nic Garcia

Nic Garcia is a journalist living in Denver. He is a senior at The Metropolitan State College of Denver.

While at Metro he contributed to the student body’s newspaper, The Metropolitan, as a reporter, designer and editor. As managing editor, The Met was named a finalist for a Pacemaker award.

Garcia is currently a contributing editor to gayzette, a monthly GLBT publication with a daily blog.

Garcia has studied and practiced journalism since he was in the fourth grade.

By time he graduated high school he helped establish an alternative weekly newspaper in his hometown and was named best high school minority reporter by the National Press Club.

Garcia has won several awards for his reporting and column writing.

He is obsessed with reporter’s notebooks.
